River Creek Romance

It’s always a joy to bring together a group of great wedding professionals to work on a styled shoot. When putting a shoot together, I like to think of it as planning a “mini wedding”. Not only do you need all of the different wedding pros, those vendors also need to work together as a team – just like on your own wedding day.

Recently Alejandra Montel, Private Events Director for River Creek Country Club in Leesburg VA, asked for my assistance in putting together a photo shoot so she could get some new images for her ad in Brides & Weddings. It was an honor to bring some of my top clients together for this endeavor. Thanks to Karina Djijo of Djijo Studios in Herndon, the images were outstanding! And we had so many great shots, I just had to share more of them in the pages of our Summer/Fall planning guide.

We could not have had better weather that spring day for the shoot and the wedding pros definitely brought their game. Miriam Leggett, owner of Soliloquy Bridal Couture in Herndon, brought a gown by Project Runway alumni Heidi Elnora, along with a simply stunning long, flowing veil. Claire and Carolyn Cutshall of Hunt Country Jewelers in Hillsboro provided the big time bling. Putting the look together with hair & makeup was stylist extraordinaire Jacquelyn Rodriguez, owner of Enlightened Styles.

And you can’t have a wedding – even a mock one – without cake and flowers. Sam & Cenora White, owners of Cake Panache, not only brought a beautiful coral & black “dummy” wedding cake,  they brought samples of delicious treats as well to keep us going through the long afternoon. And completing the shoot with just the right touch was Laura Larrick Walker of Buttercups Floral Design with a bountiful bouquet and charming hair accessory.

All in all, the shoot definitely produced River Creek Romance!
