Southern Glam Weddings | Real Weddings

This gorgeous southern wedding will make you fall in love with this sweet couple. Jonathan and Hannah have a beautiful love story. Brides & Weddings recently interviewed the bride and she gave us some insight on her wedding planning and some advice for other brides.

Jonathan and I met through our friends who were dating. I thought he was the cutest guy I'd ever seen right away and we started dating about a month after we met. We actually ended up breaking up just after a few months of dating and I didn't think we would get back together. We always seemed to keep in touch no matter what and still talk about what was doing on in each other's lives-good or bad and after a little over a year of being apart we got back together! It all changed from that point on and I knew he was the man I was going to marry! Another year and half passed and on our big family trip to Disney World in October he proposed to me! We spent the next year planning our dream wedding and this past October I married my best friend, the greatest day of my life!

Brides & Weddings: What was your theme?

I guess southern glam. I loved the whole southern element like the barn style venue with fresh cotton everywhere and barn door entrance, but I'm also a very girly girl and love everything that is pink-all shades of it and glittery! So we were able to combine it all together with glitter angel wings down to glittered wood slabs to tie it all in together!

Brides & Weddings: Describe the dress you chose and the moment you knew it was the one.

My dress was exactly what I always imaged as a little girl. It was a champagne/ivory color, completely beaded up top and trails of beading that flowed down to the bottom and throughout the train. It was fitted all in the top and then flowed out once it hit the waist! It was, from the moment I tried it on, the perfect dress! I felt it had a very romantic feel to it and then with all the beading it was me in a dress!

Brides & Weddings: What was your favorite detail?

I loved the whole thing honestly, but I think the spot we got married was my favorite detail! My decorator brought out a table with a huge mirror attached all painted with gold accents. It was beautifully decorated with a ton of flowers-in all shades of pink, cotton, and gold sequin underlay! It was gorgeous and had a little bit of everything that made up our wedding, not to mention it was the site of our "I do's".

Brides & Weddings: Describe the first dance.

It was a very sweet moment. We played "To Make You Feel My Love" by Garth Brooks, one of our favorite singers, and one of my favorite songs from when I was younger. That song always felt like it described our relationship perfectly and to share that right after we made the biggest decision to each other was amazing! We were just in our own world at that moment.

Brides & Weddings: Any advice for other brides?

Make sure that the day of you let go of everything and just enjoy it! Don't worry about anything or anyone else, because by that time you can't change anything, and take every moment in! It's the fastest day you will ever have and you don't want to miss a second of it!
