Jessica and Goran's wedding day captured by Real Image Photography is stunning. Brides & Weddings recently interviewed the bride and here are her details on the weddnig day, how she and her groom met and some advice for others!
Goran and I had been friends for a very long time before we even considered dating each other. We met at University and there was always something special between us. There was a time during our friendship when we weren't really speaking for a couple of months and then I texted him out of the blue and said "I would marry you if you were a different person." He wrote back laughing and we started dating shortly after.
5 years later we planned a trip to New York and he booked us at the Waldorf Astoria. We drove down and everything was very romantic. On the Friday he took me to Central Park because he "wanted to see a scene filmed in Die Hard." He took me to a beautiful area in the park with a pond and a bridge and a beautiful view of the city. There, he got down on one knee and pulled out the unmistakable blue Tiffany box that contained a stunning diamond covered engagement ring. That's when he asked me to marry him and I said yes a million times over. He got up and hugged and kissed me and told me to look a few feet away. Standing there was a photographer who had caught the whole thing on camera! It was such a fantastic surprise! We shot our engagement photos right there in Central Park and they turned out amazing! After that, we went back to the hotel to get ready for dinner. He had made reservations at Gradisca, which is an absolutely fabulous restaurant. When we arrived they brought us to a romantic corner table that had roses and candles on it and they brought champagne over right away. The service there was outstanding and they made our incredibly special moment even more special. After that, we returned to the hotel where he had a player of chocolate covered strawberries waiting on the bed. It was the most romantic beautiful day!
Brides & Weddings: Describe the dress you chose and the moment you knew it was the one.
My dress was a beautiful ball gown that I found at bridal couture. It was covered in crystals and pearls and had a beautiful train. I knew it was the one when I tried on a bunch of them and loved them all but only was the one that I felt I wanted to marry Goran in.
Brides & Weddings: What was your favorite detail?
I have 3 favorites:
1) My maid of honor made all of the bouquets and they were absolutely stunning.
2) My god mother made me a beautiful handkerchief for the day, and Goran used it to wipe his tears. She also said an amazing grace for us at dinner
3) I danced with my father to Macklemore's "Thrift Shop"
We walked in to "Fourth of July" by Fallout Boy and went right into our first dance to Peter Gabriel's "Book of Love." It was so perfect and we just felt like we made it.
Brides & Weddings: Do you have any advice for other brides & grooms?
Don't stress. You think something is important but it's not. People will tell you that and you won't listen. Then you'll look back and go "Oh. Ya."
