Paul & I met at home during spring break through a mutual friend. We were attending the same college but had not met yet - we started hanging out when we got back to school and the rest is history. We did 1 year long distance and have been together almost 6 years now.
When I was on a family vacation in Maui, Hawaii, Paul had secretly planned to fly out (with some help from my sister). He insisted I send a photo of the sunset one evening, so my sister and I went out to take one - when I turned around, Paul was right there - he lead me out to the beach and proposed.
Brides & Weddings: Describe the dress you chose and the moment you knew it was the one.
Strapless, Pearl/Bead/Sequence/lace embellished drop waist ballgown with a corset back - a Maggie Sottero gown.
It was the third one I had tried - I really liked it but I had previously seen another dress at a wedding show that was at another store - so we went to the other store but I quickly realized the other dress was the one. So we went back and I put it on again with the veil - I felt like a princess / bride and my mom cried and I knew it was the right one!
Brides & Weddings: What was your favorite details?
Anything to do with the Jewish wedding highlights - ie - Chuppah, Kippahs, Rabbi, Hora, Smashing the Glass, Ketubah, etc.
Brides & Weddings: Any advice for other brides?
Enjoy the moment - it FLIES by! Don't sweat the small stuff - generally there is always a way to fix a hiccup! Everything will be great if you just relax!
