Ashley and Glen are two of the kindest people and always have everyone around them smiling and laughing. They were married at Four Fillies Lodge in Peterstown, West Virginia, a hidden treasure in the wedding world. It's over-the-top beautiful and there's so much to see. Brides & Weddings recently interviewed the bride and this is what she had to say about their wedding day.
Gary and I went to high school together but never met until a few years after I graduated. We were introduced by a mutual friend and hit it off right from the start. I told him a few dates in that I would marry him one day!
He had several planned attempts at proposing but none of them ever worked out in his favor, so after a few months of carrying around the ring he finally proposed in our living room one evening!
We both knew right away we wanted a rustic themed wedding. We both love the outdoors and finding a venue like Four Fillies Lodge was the perfect combination rustic elegance and we were able to have our ceremony down by the creek with the beautiful willow tree!
The dress I wore was actually the second dress I purchased. The first one I took home was beautiful, but I feel like I was talked into loving it by everyone at the store that day. A few months later I found out about a sale going on at another shop, who just happened to carry the brand I was most drawn to. My mom and I made the trip and I knew it was my dress the moment I saw it hanging on the rack! It was perfect and totally worth it!
I loved everything about the wedding but my most favorite detail would be my bouquet!! My favorite animal is a peacock and throughout my bouquet were teal peacocks and pearl brooches!
Don't stress!!! This day is only going to happen once (hopefully) and you shouldn't ruin it for yourself or everyone else just because something doesn't turn out as planned. Chances are your guests won't even know unless it's brought to their attention!
