A Bicycle Built for Two | Real Weddings

The bicycle built for two fit right in at this vineyard venue on a sweet fall day in Austin, Texas. It's not often that you see a groom being cheered on in the Tour de France, but this summer, that is exactly what happened. When Chelsie and Lawson met and she heard he rode bikes for a living, she wasn't sure what to make of it. Little did she know he was a world-class cyclist, and she quickly turned into his biggest fan. This bride and groom styled their wedding with so many little details of bikes. The connection between Chelsie and Lawson is just so tangible and every single detail came together to help get their married life started with perfection. As the night came to a close, rain started pouring down on the dance floor and the bride and groom happily ran absolutely soaked through the glow sticks and off to their honeymoon. Brides & Weddings recently had a chance to interview the bride and get some insight on her special day.

Lawson and I met at Fun Fun Fun Fest in Austin, TX on November 4, 2011, and we've been together ever since. We'd been dating for a little over 4 years when we got engaged. We live in Spain for a few months out of every year for his job, and without me knowing, he had a local jeweler in our little Spanish town design my dream engagement ring. We got engaged at Lady Bird Lake in Austin after dinner at our favorite restaurant. It was just the two of us and our dog, and it was absolutely perfect.

Brides & Weddings: What was your theme? What inspired you to pick that theme?

Lawson really wanted the wedding to be completely outdoors, and I am a very classic person. We wanted our wedding to represent us. The majority of our vendors were friends that we'd grown up around- our wedding cake was made by the same person that made the cupcakes for my 6th birthday party, and my parent's sweet neighbor was our florist.

Brides & Weddings: Describe the dress you chose and the moment you knew it was the one.

I got my dress from Blush Bridal Boutique in Austin. I'd been noticing it ever since I was 12 years old, and I'd always wanted to buy my wedding dress there. I'd tried on several dresses at a few bridal shops, but once I put on my dress I knew I'd compare every other dress to it and not like any of them as much.

Brides & Weddings: What was your favorite detail?

The bride and groom salt and pepper shakers at our sweetheart table were from my Grandparent's wedding.

Brides & Weddings: Any advice for other brides & grooms?

Remember your wedding is about you and your husband. The planning can be so stressful, but in the end all that matters is that you're marrying your best friend and you're going to spend the rest of your lives together.
