Kayla and Mark knew they wanted something epic for their engagement session, so hopping in a car for a two-hour ride along the Allegheny Mountains was no big thing for these two adorable adventurers. We love the idea of a destination engagement session and starting your next chapter with such a fun and memorable adventure. It really is true when they say West Virginia is “Almost Heaven!" Dolly Sods Wilderness made for such a breathtaking backdrop. Gorgeous scenic views, a romantic setting and the rich tones of fall most definitely made for a memorable experience. Kayla and Mark have such amazing style and are so clearly best friends. Not only were they complete naturals in front of the camera, they oozed romance and have such a beautiful connection and love for each other.
Planning has been fairly easy. My fiance, Mark, and I have very similar taste and work very well together. My sister and I were having a girls trip at Oglebay, our home town, the weekend after I got engaged. Our room was right next to this beautiful overlook where a wedding was going on. It was so gorgeous I ended up booking Oglebay shortly after that. We saw our photographer, Britani Edwards, at a friend's wedding where I was a bridesmaid. She had such a great vibe and made the day very easy. After talking to her and seeing her beautiful work, I couldn't wait to book her.
Be patient. Wedding planning is a process. Be flexible. Not everything works out 100 percent of the time, sometimes you have to go with the flow.
