River Creek Club, located in Leesburg, Virginia, offers brides plenty of classic elegance. It offers over 600 acres of beautiful land with breathtaking views of the Potomac and, of course, a championship Ault-Clark 18-hole golf course.
“It’s a great place to sell!” said River Creek’s Private Events Director, Rachael Rutherford. “The club itself is beautiful.” Rutherford has only been there since October 2016 but is enjoying her work so far because “many staff members have been working here for many years and are very knowledgeable about the venue and its members.”
River Creek doesn’t have a small staff either–depending on the season, between 100 and 175 staff work at the property. They're all needed, too, as the club hosts an average of 30 to 40 weddings per year, as well as an additional 500 to 600 events per year! Those additional events include functions like banquets, fundraisers, day meetings, golf outings and more.
What do brides often request of Rutherford for their wedding day at River Creek Club? “One of the most popular requests from wedding clients is for us to take them out on golf carts and go down by the Potomac River for photos,” said Rutherford. “We have one spot in particular called The Point. It’s a spot directly on the Potomac River with swings and a dock that couples love to take photos at.” Sounds romantic!
Brides need not worry about attentiveness as River Creek is known for excellent service, including an onsite wedding coordinator that will orchestrate and execute all of the details for a flawless wedding. Amanda Gervais serves as River Creek’s Private Events Coordinator and works with brides on all the facets for their big day, ensuring the bride and groom aren’t left to do all the work. They can even help with invitations, personalized napkins, wedding cake, music and entertainment, and more.
When you think about it, having a dedicated event coordinator help out with the details makes sense since brides and grooms often don’t have many weddings to plan (hopefully only one!), but events coordinators, like Amanda, do this all the time for hundreds of weddings and special occasions. Their tremendous experience helps ensure no detail is left out and no questions left unanswered.
Chef James Lockley also plays a large role in River Creek’s bridal success by ensuring the food is exactly what brides wish for on their special day. Its menu can range greatly depending on the wedding party's budget, dietary requests, and preferences.
“I love preparing fresh and seasonal dishes based off of the month that the bride is getting married in,” said Chef Lockley. “Many of our summer brides love choosing the Filet of Salmon with Warm Tropical Fruit Salsa, while our winter brides prefer the warm and toasty feeling that our Beef Tenderloin Au Poivre with Brandy Infused Demi-Glace leaves them with. In the end, it all depends on the bride's taste and preference. I will create anything that she wishes, as this is one of the most important days in her life!”
So if you are looking for a waterfront venue with professional event services, fantastic seasonal menus and beautiful views, it's worth checking out River Creek Club for your special day.
