Elegant Outdoor Celebration | Real Weddings

Bob & Julie have a sweet love story. You can easily see through their wedding photos by Peer Canvas that they are dedicated to each other in a unique way. Here is more about how they met, their engagement and details about the wedding from Julie.

Bob was my client when I was doing real estate in Chicago. I thought he was adorable and sweet. I made the first move by Facebook friend requesting him (naturally) when we were no longer working together, he accepted. From there we casually dated for a while, after a few months' things progressed, I met his whole family and then we moved in together. He and I just fit together, easy going, and happy. He was the first guy to play a little hard to get with me, I liked that and he intrigued me.
He met me at Montrose harbor in Chicago after I had just ran about 5 miles. it was a really hot and humid June morning and i had been struggled on the run. He was parked by my car; it didn't seem weird that he was there for some reason. We went to the harbor, overlooking the city and Lake Michigan having a normal conversation about life. He worked it into the conversation and I was completely caught off guard. He got on one knee, teared up and asked me to be his wife. It was perfect, simple, and exactly like us.
I lost my sister 3 years ago to leukemia. Going in I knew planning and all the wedding festivities would be really hard to celebrate without her there. My family and I have stayed close with her friends and I invited them to the wedding. With them there, a locket on my bouquet, and saving a front row seat closets to me with a Cubs had (the Cubs were the love of her life) it felt as if she was there too. We didn't want to do anything over the top to honor her; she is not that type of person. I look photos with all of her friends, all in Cubs hats which is a memory I will have forever. Ironically enough the Cubs also won the World Series this year, doesn't seem like a coincidence to me!When planning the wedding I wanted to focus on simple and elegant. I did not care what type of flowers we had as long as they were pale pink with greens mixed in. Pinterest helped with those choices (thank goodness for Pinterest!).
The wedding was all tied together with my dad's speech; it was so memorable and special. There wasn't a dry eye in the house. Somehow he balanced tears and laughter in a way I did not think was possible. I was so proud of him.
