There are barns ... and there are barns. From country clubs like the newly-remodeled Chantilly National Golf - which boasts a classic barn exterior with a modern ballroom - to newly constructed event centers that feature the design elements of a classic rural structure with all the modern amenities.

And then there is the real deal. East Lynn Farm, located in western Loudoun County near Round Hill, is a working farm that offers a farm-to-table cuisine experience with fresh produce and meats. The historic farmhouse serves as a bed & breakfast and has been used as a backdrop for lovely outside wedding ceremonies and receptions.

This year, other structures owned by East Lynn Farm became available and the owner has turned a 1925 dairy barn with hayloft into NoVA's newest wedding venue. The dairy barn features two distinctive levels. The lower level, also known as the milking parlor, works well for a family-style rehearsal dinner, intimate reception, cocktail hour and "Plan B" ceremony site if Mother Nature has other plans. The parlor's design keeps it naturally cool.

Upstairs is the hayloft, offering a combination of vintage high ceiling and rustic plank flooring with modern, high end lighting fixtures and fans. This space can accommodate up to 140 guests.

In addition to the dairy barn, East Lynn has a pre-Civil War run-in shed/barn that works for cocktail time, a pole barn that can be extended with a tent, and an expansive lawn with beautiful views. And, naturally, there are some terrific farm equipment "props" and photo ops.
