As one of the perks to being the publisher of this website and its companion planning guide, I get invited to some great events. It's nice to have firsthand knowledge of a venue, its cuisine, and service. I enjoyed two exemplary NoVA restaurants recently that cater to daytime wedding receptions, rehearsal dinners - and even off premise catering.
Located adjacent to Fairfax Corner, Ruth's Chris played host to a group of wedding and event planners, offering a "taste of" luncheon of beef, chicken and seafood. There are several locations in the DC area - including Tysons Corner and Arlington. The Fairfax location offers a private room for rehearsal dinners and cocktail parties and the restaurant can accommodate up to 175. And Ruth's Chris has now taken it's great food on the road with off premise catering. The food is prepared onsite, on the grill.
Later in the evening, it was over to 2941 Restaurant in Falls Church for a meeting of the Association of Wedding Professionals. I can't decide what is the best about 2941 - all the wonderful water features, the fascinating collection of artwork or the award-winning food! The restaurant offers three private party rooms for bridesmaids luncheons, rehearsal dinners and small weddings. Sunday weddings, where you can rent the entire restaurant, are quite popular at this inside the Beltway venue near the Fairview Park Marriott. If you'd like to learn more about 2941, come out to the October 5th open house.
