One of the best kept secrets in Northern Virginia is that you do not have to be a member of the military - or have any sort of military connection for that matter - to use one of the area's many beautiful officers' clubs for your wedding reception. If you're looking for a spacious ballroom overlooking the Potomac River, consider the Fort Belvoir Officers' Club.
This stately brick club, built in 1935 and recognized as an historic site, offers a variety of rooms. There are two ballrooms with expansive views of the river, a wood paneled room called "The Castle" that's perfect for rehearsal dinners, and several smaller spaces for bridemaids' luncheons and showers.
All inclusive, stress-free wedding planning is the hallmark of the Fort Belvoir Officers' Club. Several packages include upgrades like specialty linens, cakes, and flowers. And the club offers a 10% discount for Friday night/Saturday morning weddings.
The club hosts a wide variety of events that are open to the public, including Taste of Belvoir on September 19, from 6pm to 10pm. With delicious food and wonderful entertainment, this event provides a great opportunity to check out what the chefs can do for your reception or rehearsal dinner. Cost is $30 per person. The dining room also offers a daily lunch buffet, special dinner nights and a Sunday champagne brunch.
