The historical couple will celebrate their 219th wedding anniversary with an exclusive VIP dinner for 12 special guests, followed by a salon featuring wine, hors d’oeuvres and lively conversation. John Douglas Hall will play the role of Founding Father James Madison and Dr. Lynn Uzzell will play the role of Dolley. Mr. Hall has portrayed James Madison at the president's home Montpelier since 1987. Dr. Uzzell is the scholar in residence at that historic property.
Belle Grove Plantation, located on Route 301 just south of Route 3 in King George (about 20 minutes east of Fredericksburg) is a childhood home of Madison. Michelle Darnell and her husband, Brett, opened the property as a bed & breakfast this summer. This historic property is available for wedding receptions and offers stunning sunset views of the river, wonderful outdoor ceremony space and great photo opportunities.
